Abstract

Highlights • Bangladeshi people were surveyed about anxiety early during the COVID-19 pandemic.• Estimates of panic and generalized anxiety were 79.6%, and 37.3%, respectively.• Panic was linked to older age, higher education, and being married and with family.• Generalized anxiety was linked to being female, married and older and other factors.• COVID-19-related response measures were not linked to panic or generalized anxiety.
