Right to Food and Food Security in Bangladesh: An Overview

Abstract
Food is an important element of human life. National food security is a big challenge for our country Bangladesh. There are many contributing factors to the food security problems of Bangladesh. Among them are population growth, environmental degradation, land scarcity, and lack of access to nutritious and safe food. The constitution of Bangladesh considered access to adequate, safe, and secure food a fundamental principle of state policy after independence in 1971. Also, as of date, there exist at least fifteen other laws, policies, and regulations apart from the constitutional provisions to ensure food safety and security.
