TA-TDP: A Topology Aware Total Dominant Pruning Broadcast Protocol to Reduce Forwarding Stations in Wireless Ad-hoc Networks

Abstract
The primary objective of broadcast protocol is to transmit broadcast messages to all stations of the network using minimal number of forwarding stations which mitigates broadcast storm problem and consume less network resources. Total Dominant pruning (TDP), a neighbor knowledge-based proactive approach, is an effective broadcast protocol for minimizing the number of forwarding stations. When two or more candidate stations cover equal number of uncovered stations (tie situation), TDP selects the station having smallest ID that does not contribute to reduce forwarding stations because topological information about the network is absence in station ID.
