An analysis of export growth and instability of processed foods from India

Abstract

The present study is an attempt to examine the growth and in export of processed foods from India. The study is based on secondary data collected for the period 2008–09 to 2017–18 from official web-site sources. It is found that during 2017–18, groundnuts emerged as the largest contributor to total processed food export. The export earnings of the processed food increased at the annual compound growth rate of 6.80 percent during 2008–09 to 2017–18. Except mango pulp and jaggery and confectionery, the growth rates in exports were very impressive.
