Abstract

Water containing heavy metal such as lead (Pb(II)) should be removed for supplying the pure water before discharge to water bodies. In this study, the Pb(II) monitoring and removal were evaluated by the ligand anchoring onto the mesoporous silica based conjugate materials. The material characterization was evaluated to understand the nature of the prepared hybrid type material affinity to the Pb(II) ion. The conjugate material was exhibited highly ordered structure and able to open high functionality for Pb(II) capturing. The material was enhanced the color upon addition of different concentrations of Pb(II) for defining the sensitivity based on the complexation mechanism by charge transfer elucidations.
