Nuclear power plants in emerging economies and human resource development: A review

Abstract
Rapid expansion of nuclear technologies and nuclear energy for power generation in emerging (developing) countries necessitate undertaking urgent skills development programs. Skilled human resource is a vital first step in ensuring a sustainable supply of qualified/competent personnel for the safe, responsible and sustainable use of nuclear technologies. This paper highlights the current trend of global nuclear power plant development in new comer countries. It also emphasis the need for skilled human resource development programs that are required for sustainable management of nuclear power plants during construction, operation, maintenance and repair for the safe and secure operation.
