Design and Implementation of an IoT-Enabled Buck-Boost Converter for Adaptive Solar Energy Regulation

Abstract

The lack of solar photovoltaic (PV) output stability caused by irradiance and temperature makes maintaining a constant DC supply of battery-based energy storage systems challenging. This paper will comment on the design and development of an IoT-enabled buck-boost converter with adjusting PV output control to offer reliable and efficient charging in diverse environmental conditions. In the proposed system, an ESP32 microcontroller is used to dynamically adjust converter duty cycle with PWM depending on real-time voltage and current measurements.
