Abstract

This paper deals with the description of fusulinid fossils collected from the central area of Qiangtang, Tibet. Totally, 7 genera and 13 species, assigned to 4 families and 2 superfamilies, were discovered. Five species are of Polydiexodina including two new species. The fusulinid fauna here corresponds to Neosch- wagerina zone so that the time of Polydiexodina-bearing strata is Maokouan in age of Middle Permian. The discovery of Polydiexodina provides new data to the study of its biogeography distribution and for the classification and correlation of the strata on a larger scale.
