Modeling Intermodal Travel Behavior of Regional Integrated Transportation: A Stated Preference Survey in China

Abstract
With the development of the economy and society, the demand for intercity travel is increasing, and transfer between travel modes is more convenient. To study impacts of intermodal travel mode choice of regional integrated transportation in China, this paper conducts a stated preference survey among 3,163 respondents. The survey consists of three experiments which are designed according to different lengths of travel distance. The mixed multinomial logit model is used to analyze impacts of social and economic characteristics, alternative-specific attributes, travel habits, and attitudes on intermodal travel mode choice. The results indicate four alternative-specific attributes have significantly negative effects in the three experiments.
