Malformed Intersection Level of Service Promotion Strategy Research Based on VISSIM

Abstract
In some urban old areas, there are many malformed intersections with multiple forks. As urban traffic increases, it is crucial to improve the LOS (level of service) at these intersections, in which traffic jams often occur. This paper takes a typical five-way malformed intersection in China as an example to analyze traffic flow lines and traffic conflict points. In order to improve the LOS, this paper proposes corresponding improvement schemes based on conflict theory. Finally, based on the VISSIM software, the traffic flow state of the intersection before and after the implementation is simulated.
