Abstract
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a manufacturing program whose sole purpose is to maximize the effectiveness of equipment throughout its entire life by the participation and motivation of the entire workforce. The three main objectives of TPM are zero defects, zero breakdowns and zero accidents. These goals can be achieved through implementation of activities planned to increase equipment efficiency, the creation of a program of autonomous maintenance, the establishing of a planned maintenance system, the organization of training courses for workers and design of plant management system.
