Abstract
Rapid environmental depletion and ever-increasing CO2 emission have necessitated an environment-friendly manufacturing practice for industries across the globe. In this perspective, green manufacturing (GM) practices were conceptualized and practiced by large scale enterprises of developed countries. However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries are struggling to adopt GM practices. There are many reasons for this struggle in a developing country like India. To shed light on this issue, this research work intends to identify, analyze and rank the predominant barriers, which restrict implementing of GM practices in Indian manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
