自然界のさまざまな生き物は秩序構造からなる構造色をもつが，近年この秩序構造を高分子材料に導入し発色をもたせようとする試みが，とくにセンサーの分野から注目されている。われわれは水中で秩序的な二重膜構造を形成するイタコン酸ドデシルグリセリル（DGI）に着目して研究を行ってきた。本稿では，DGIとアクリルアミドにより構成される秩序構造をもったゲルの合成，力学的な異方性，応力変化による構造色の変化などについて紹介する。
