Abstract

Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major health issue and ranks as the third most frequently diagnosed and second most deadly cancer globally. Colorectal cancer (CRC) accounted for around 9.4% of cancer-related deaths worldwide in 2020. The prevalence of CRC exhibits significant variation, with elevated rates observed in North America, Australia, and Northern and Western Europe. Patients in the South Asian population commonly exhibit colorectal cancer (CRC) at a younger age and typically at an advanced stage. CRC is not widely prevalent in the Indian subcontinent. The prevalence of colorectal cancer in India was determined to be 4.2 and 3.2 per one hundred thousand individuals for males and females, respectively.
